Complete Wet Area Drainage for Australian Bathrooms and New Builds

Effective drainage is an essential component of any successful bathroom or wet area project. Warmup’s drainage range offers a complete selection of floor drain systems designed to work alongside the Warmup underfloor heating and waterproofing product range. Whether you are specifying a traditional point drain for a standard bathroom, a concealed linear drain for a luxury shower, or a heavy-duty floor waste for a commercial wet area, Warmup’s drainage products are designed for professional installation in Australian wet area construction. The drainage system forms the base of the wet area build-up – it must be installed and set at the correct level before the waterproofing membrane and heating elements are applied over the top.

Getting the drainage specification right at the planning stage ensures all three elements of the wet area build-up work together correctly.

All Warmup drainage products are designed to meet Australian plumbing standards and are intended for installation by a licensed plumber. Warmup’s technical team can assist with drainage product selection and specification for any project, including guidance on how the drainage system integrates with the waterproofing and heating products in the same wet area, as a coordinated package, simplifying the specification process for builders, tilers, and bathroom renovators.

Drainage FAQs

A: Warmup supplies point drains (floor wastes) and linear channel drains in various sizes and finishes. Contact Warmup Australia for the product range, dimensions and finish options.

A: The drainage system is installed first, set at the correct finished floor level. The waterproofing membrane is then applied over the substrate and around the drain outlet. The underfloor heating mat or cable is installed over the waterproofing layer. Tiles are then laid over the heating system with adhesive. Warmup’s installation guides cover the build-up sequence.

A: Yes. All drainage connections to the plumbing system must be made by a plumber in Australia. The drain body must be correctly connected to the waste pipe before the waterproofing and heating layers are applied.
